Is dental treatment in Turkey safe? It depends on the clinic. Here is how to check.
You have seen the stories: crowns on healthy teeth, no records, nobody to call afterwards. Those cases are real, and they are the reason this page exists. The answer is not "Turkey is good" or "Turkey is bad". It is a short list of things a clinic should be able to show you in writing before you book. Here is ours.
- Named, licensed dentists who review your case themselves: Dr. Taha G and Dr. Hatice G
- A written plan before travel, with what is included and what is not
- Sterilisation, imaging and materials you can ask about and see
- Your records, X-rays and aftercare sheet to take home, plus written warranty terms
We reply within 15 minutes
Who treats you
Both dentists are licensed in Turkey, graduated from Istanbul universities and plan every case on a 3D scan. Their profiles are on this site; the plan carries their name.
What you get in writing
Treatment plan before travel, revised plan if the scan changes anything, aftercare sheet, X-rays and scan files, implant passport, warranty terms.
What we will not do
Crown healthy teeth for looks, start treatment that was not in your plan, or send you home without records and a contact.
What a careful process looks like
- Questions first, photos later. You can ask anything before sending a single photo. We do not ask for photos in the first message.
- Dentist review and written plan. The dentist who would treat you writes the plan, usually within 24 hours of receiving photos and X-rays.
- Examination and 3D scan on arrival. If the scan changes the plan, you get the revised plan in writing before anything starts.
- Records and follow-up.You leave with your files, aftercare sheet, your dentist's direct contact and the warranty terms. Follow-up is by message with photos, and with your own dentist at home when needed.
Why some patients have had bad experiences
The problems reported by dentists in the UK and elsewhere follow a pattern: healthy teeth ground down for full sets of crowns, treatment sold as a package before anyone looked at the mouth, no X-rays or records given to the patient, and no one to contact when something went wrong. None of this is about geography. It is about how a clinic works. The same problems exist in any country where treatment is sold before it is planned.
Hygiene and sterilisation
Instruments are cleaned, packaged and sterilised in an autoclave with each cycle logged. Single use items are used once. Surgical procedures are done in a dedicated room. You are welcome to ask to see the sterilisation area and the cycle records when you visit; patients do, and we show them.
Imaging, planning and materials
Implants are planned on a 3D scan, not placed by eye. Crowns and veneers are designed digitally and made in our own laboratory. The plan names the implant system and the ceramic used, so your dentist at home knows exactly what is in your mouth. Materials are from established manufacturers with parts available internationally.
What to do when you are back home
Keep your records folder. Book a check-up with your own dentist after healing and show them the plan, X-rays and implant passport; a good clinic expects this. If anything feels wrong, message your treating dentist with photos first. The warranty terms in your plan explain what is covered and how a return visit is handled if one is ever needed.
Questions to ask any clinic, including us
Who exactly will treat me, and can I see their licence? Will I get a written plan before I pay anything? What is included and what is not? What material and which implant system? What records do I take home? What are the warranty terms, in writing? How fast do you answer when I am back home? If a clinic cannot answer these in writing, that is the answer.

Frequently asked questions
Are dentists in Turkey properly qualified?
Dentists in Turkey complete a five year university degree and are licensed by the Ministry of Health and the dental association. Our two dentists' education and training are listed on their profile pages.
Will I get my X-rays and records?
Yes. You take home your X-rays, scan files, plan, aftercare sheet and implant passport.
Do I have to send photos to get answers?
No. Ask your questions first. Photos are only needed when you want a plan for your own case.
Why do I read about "Turkey teeth"?
Because some clinics crown healthy teeth in one bright shade. It is a planning and ethics problem, not a country problem. Our veneer page explains how we avoid it.
What if something goes wrong after I return?
You contact your treating dentist directly. Most issues are handled by message with photos and, where needed, with your dentist at home. The written warranty terms cover repair, replacement and return visits.
Can my UK or US dentist check your plan?
Yes, and we encourage it. The plan is written so another dentist can read it tooth by tooth.
Ask us, a coordinator replies personally, and a dentist answers medical questions.
Ask us the hard questions
Message us with your questions. No photos needed, no pressure. A licensed dentist answers, and if treatment is not right for you, we say so. We reply within 15 minutes, 7 days a week.
