Dental crowns in Turkey, only on teeth that need them
A crown protects a tooth that is cracked, heavily filled, root treated or worn. At Doctor Turka a crown is a decision made tooth by tooth by a licensed dentist, written in a plan you read at home. Healthy teeth are not crowned for looks.
- Zirconia or e.max porcelain, chosen for where the tooth sits and how you bite
- Each tooth assessed separately: crown, veneer, onlay or filling
- Written plan with material, number of teeth and visits before you travel
- Aftercare sheet and written warranty terms for your dentist at home

Tooth by tooth
The plan lists every tooth with what it needs and why, so you can check it with your own dentist.
Right material for the job
Zirconia for strength at the back and for bridges, e.max for the most natural look at the front. The plan says which and why.
Made in our laboratory
Crowns are designed digitally and finished by our ceramist, with a try-in and bite check before final cementing.
How a crown plan is made
- Message us on WhatsApp.Tell us about the tooth or the old crowns you want replaced.
- Photos and X-rays when ready. An X-ray or scan from your dentist helps us see roots and old fillings.
- Written plan. The dentist writes which teeth need a crown, which do not, the material, and whether any root treatment or post is needed first.
- Treatment in Istanbul.Preparation, temporaries, try-in, bite adjustment and cementing over several appointments. You leave with an aftercare sheet.
Crown, veneer, onlay or filling
- Filling or bonding: small damage, most of the tooth is sound.
- Onlay: a larger part of a back tooth is missing but the walls are sound; covers only what is needed.
- Veneer: the front of the tooth needs a change in colour or shape and the tooth is otherwise healthy.
- Crown: the tooth is cracked, root treated, heavily filled or badly worn, and needs full cover to survive.
If you have been offered a full set of crowns elsewhere and most of your teeth are healthy, send us the plan. We will tell you tooth by tooth whether we agree.
Zirconia or e.max
Zirconia is very strong and is our choice for back teeth, for people who grind, and for bridges. Modern layered zirconia also looks natural. e.max (lithium disilicate) is more translucent and is our choice for front teeth where appearance matters most. Metal based crowns are used only when there is a specific reason, and the plan explains it.
Replacing old crowns
Old crowns with dark edges, gaps or decay underneath can be replaced. The tooth under an old crown is checked on X-ray first; if it needs a root treatment or a post, that is in the plan before travel, not a surprise on the day.
What is included and aftercare
Included: examination and X-ray, preparation, temporaries, laboratory made crowns, try-in, bite check, cementing, and a written aftercare sheet. Not included unless the plan says so: root treatment, posts, gum treatment or extractions found on examination; these are added in writing before we start. Warranty terms are in your plan and depend on home care and check-ups.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a crown last?
With good home care and regular check-ups, many years. The material, your bite and how you clean it matter more than the country it was made in.
Can crowns be done in one trip?
Usually yes, over several appointments during the stay. If a root treatment is needed first, the plan says how that changes the timeline.
What if I only need one crown?
That is fine. We treat single teeth; you do not need a full set to be a patient.
Do crowns hurt?
The tooth is numbed for preparation. Some sensitivity for a few days afterwards is normal and is covered in your aftercare sheet.
Will the crown match my other teeth?
Shade is chosen with you against your own teeth, and you see the crown at try-in before it is cemented.
What happens if a crown comes loose at home?
Contact your treating dentist first. The written warranty terms cover re-cementing and replacement and explain how it works with your dentist at home.
